Trencadìs

Trencadis is a decoration technique that consists of applying pottery fragments or glass shards cut into irregular shapes on a surface, by covering it entirely.

This technique has been frequently used by modernist architects and it reached its expressive acme with the works by the architect Antoni Gaudì.

It is considered a new version of the Arabic pottery mosaic.
